9/25/06 Causes of the American Revolution

The causes of the American Revolution starts when the French and the England fights over dominance in North America. After the French and the Indian War, the French loses and leaves America. After that, the English starts taxing on the colonies since they had a huge debt and they believed that they didn't pay enough share. So they make all these Acts, like the Navigation Law, the Sugar Act, Townshend Act, Tea Act, and the Intolerable Act. Which all leads to the American Revolution.

First it starts with the Sugar act which taxed on the sugar, and to the Townshend Act which taxed on goods that were produced in Brittain and sold in America. The Tea Act was when the English started taxing on tea which they monopolized in India. So the colonies got mad, which led to the Boston Tea Party. They dressed like Indians and dumped all the tea into the Boston Harbor. All this led to the Intolerable Acts, which closed the port of Boston, the Quartering Act expanded to all colonies, and the Quebec Act in which Catholicism was accepted. Also, the First Continental Congress was formed, to discuss how to deal with the Brittish. Which led to the American Revolution.
