North Korea

On October 9, 2006 the United States Geological Survey found a magnitude 4.2 earthquake which indicates a successful nuclear test. Afterwards on the same day, the North Korean government announced that they had completed a successful test of the nuclear device underground. Yet, we were not completely sure if they had really succeeded. Today, on October 13, we caught the radioactivity, which confirmed that the test of the nuclear bomb was true.

Twenty minutes before the test, China received notice of it. They immediately warned Japan, Russia and the United States. Due to it, we prohibited trade with them. Since North Korea couldn’t survive on their own without trading, we’re trying to do what we did to Iraq. Without us giving food or money to them, they wouldn’t be able to live; people would starve and die. Even if they had money, we wouldn’t trade with them anyway.

North Korea had warned us about their nuclear weapon to threaten us if we ever attacked them. The ironic thing that North Korea had said was that even though they were the ones who announced that they had nuclear weapon, we were the ones declaring war on them, since we prohibited trade with them.

As of today, some people still doubt if North Koreans had used a nuclear device or if the explosion had really occurred. North Korea and its nuclear weapon is one of the top stories of the world right now.

Personally I think that it’s very dangerous, and I worry about it a lot because it will most likely become a war. I hate wars, and I know that no one likes wars; I just hate how people think and use their power. I’m also surprised because I always thought that Korea was a peaceful country. In my church, the leaders are Koreans and they’re really strong, calm, and giving people. I just hope that it doesn’t turn into a war.
