Columbus Day
Why do we have Columbus Day? First of all, what is Columbus Day? Columbus day is when we celebrate the date of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World in 1492. Why do we celebrate it when many Native tribes were already civilized in America way beofre the Europeans did? Why don't we have a day for the Native tribes? There are still many arguments.Personally, I think that we should have both Columbus day and a day for the Native tribes that were already living in America. If it wasn't for Columbus, we wouldn't have had an independent country. If he didn't discover America, which he thought was India, all the Europeans wouldn't have come to America for different reasons, and the Brittish wouldn't have controlled them, and they wouldn't have declared independence. But since all that did happen, and that's why we live here right now, we should have Columbus day.
We should also have a day for those Indian tribes in America because they helped fight many of the wars, despite that many were killed or slaved by the Europeans earlier. Who knows how it could have affected history if it wasn't for those Indians? So I believe that we should celebrate Columbus day, also having a day to celebrate the Indians.
