?Still Confused?

When I was about 13 years old, in 8th grade, I learned about the different religions, and from that time and on, I started thinking more about my religion, Christianity. I also learned about the first modern humans on Earth right before that, and that caused me to think about one specific thing about religion and the modern humans. Since then, I had an unanswered question. I asked my dad, but he didn't quite answer the question clearly.

We Christians believe that God created light and Day and Night on the first day, Heaven on the second day, Earth on the third day, with plants, flowers and trees. On the fourth day, He created the sun, moon and the stars. On the fifth day, he created the birds of the air and the fishes of the sea. Finally, on the sixth day, God created us human beings. And He rested on the seventh day. From my understandings, they say that Adam and Eve were the first human beings that God had created. But, from the findings of the Human ancestors, there were Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus, Homo Sapiens, and all other modern humans. Were Adam and Eve before or after the Hominids? Were Adam and Eve hominids?
