9/18/06 Should Americans be in Iraq?

Why are Americans in Iraq? Well, there are many reasons but the main reason that they are there is to support create a new government. Americans should be in Iraq, so that people like Saddam Hussein would not take control.

Saddam Hussein, who became the Iraq president in 1979, had killed many people who disobeyed him. He was much like Hitler, who killed all the Jews and the people who disobeyed him.
Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990, and the Kuwait was completely unprepared. Soon after, American troops were sent to help Kuwait. Even though we helped get rid of the Iraqi troops, we did not kill Hussein. 10 years after the invasion of Kuwait, he became powerful again, having all kinds of weapons. We thought that he was going to invade again, so we went over to capture him. In 2003, we had captured Hussein, but Iraq was still not in peace. Those people who were influenced by Hussein, had killed many people, including many American troops. Right now, we are trying to establish a government in Iraq.

I think that Americans should be in Iraq because if we let them establish their own government, people like Hussein might try to take over again. And so, for world peace, I think that the Americans should be there, to preotect us, and the whole world.
